Job overview

Outpatients Appointment Centre Pods are responsible for the management of The Outpatients waiting lists, and appointments bookings for services within their remit. The Outpatient Appointment Centre Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and consistent data entry and delivery of all specialty bookings within their POD. The post holder will have an in depth knowledge of all specialty specific intricacies and have a specialist understanding of all booking rules and clinical pathways for the specialties within their remit.

The Outpatient Appointment Centre Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the outpatient waiting list including validation, pod inbox,  booking first outpatient appointments, managing e-RS work lists and generally ensuring that a first class service is provided to all patients. The post holder will develop close working relationships with  clinical colleagues within the services their pod serves and will ensure good communication is maintained with all stakeholders. They will support other members of the Outpatient Appointment Centre and wider Elective Access Team to promote good practice, and to support in the delivery of an excellent clinical admin support service.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a full-time Senior Coordinator to join our Outpatients Appointment Centre team who will be responsible for supporting Clinical Pathway Managers with the distribution of workload to the bookers, managing and maintaining the POD email accounts. The role is for an experienced outpatient administrator with knowledge in; Cerner, eRS,  EPR, Envoy and the Validation tool LUNA, while ensuring that a first class service is provided to all patients.

They will also support other members of the Elective Pathway Team to promote good practice and to support in the delivery of training and awareness programmes. Assisting the POD Clinical Pathway Managers with collecting data and prepping for the monthly Specialty Buffer meetings.
The successful candidates will be required to be able to demonstrate the Trust values, and meet the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. 
It will be important to be flexible as successful candidates may be required to work on any of our hospital sites.
