Job overview

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation trust is looking to support the ongoing expansion and development of its network infrastructure at its three main hospitals in north London: Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital, and Chase Farm Hospital, as well as a growing number of peripheral sites throughout the London area.

This presents an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled and experienced network team as one of seven network engineers who will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and development of the trust’s network infrastructure across all elements including WAN, LAN, data centre, cloud connectivity, Wi-Fi, firewalls, security, and associated IT systems.

Main duties of the job

  • Monitor, maintain and manage the trust network and associated systems to ensure the highest level of availability, performance, and security.
  • Resolve complex incidents and requests in line with underlying priorities, deadlines, and SLAs of the trust.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines and stakeholders to maximize customer experience and minimize delays.
  • Resource network requirements for IT and non-IT lead projects, managing associated schedules, reporting on progress, and escalating issues.
  • Configure and deploy network technologies to meet the growth, functional and security requirements of the trust.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and standards are followed and highlight areas for improvement.

  • Interpreting IT requirements to facilitate solutions that adhere with existing organizational standards.
  • Working collaboratively on projects with multidisciplinary teams
  • Managing complex IT issues and co - ordinating multiple IT and non -IT related resources to resolve them and mitigate against future occurrences
