Job overview

This is a Senior Clinical Fellow post in Hepatobiliary and Liver transplant Anaesthesia based at the Royal Free Hospital. The post holder will join an existing pool of deanery trainees in the anaesthetics department who are taking part in a comprehensive ST3+ (specialist trainee year 3 and above) training program in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine.

This role is offered as a 6 month FTC (extendable to 12-months subject to satisfactory internal review)

Main duties of the job

·         Participation in on call rota for liver transplantation anaesthesia)

·         Anaesthesia for elective HPB theatres

·         Anaesthesia for elective complex major surgery

·         Participation in clinical audit

·         Participation in teaching and training

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GMC registration
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • FRCA or equivalent
  • ALS
  • Strong oral and written communications in English
Desirable criteria
  • ATLS
  • APLS/EPALS

Anaesthetic knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum 5 years ICU/Anaesthetics experience (incl 3 year anaesthetics)
  • Logbook evidence of experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of ERAS pathways
  • Able to deal with general emergency admissions
  • Experience in managing acute pain

Qualities and attributes

  • Ability to build good relationships and work collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organisation
