Job overview

Are you an experienced cancer nurse looking for experience in a leadership role? Would you like to join a successful team delivering best patient care at the Royal free Hospital? 

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated nurse to come and manage our 27 bedded oncology ward on 11 East and oncology outpatient clinic on the ground floor. Our cancer ward cares for patients with range of cancers who are receiving radioactive isotopes, chemotherapy, symptom management and supportive therapies and end of life care. Oncology outpatients supports various oncology clinics ensuring a smooth patient pathway. The Macmillan information centre and citizens advice bureau is based on the unit.

The person we want for this role needs to be able to be flexible and able to implement changes quickly and efficiently. These are challenging times and therefore the post holder has to have a level of resilience and is able to manage change effectively. 

 

Main duties of the job

You will lead the team, manage the budget, motivate staff, problem solve, role model and implement change. You will ensure the delivery of high quality care and safety. The ability to communicate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team is essential. You will be supported in this post by the ward team, Senior Matron for Medical Specialties and the Head of Nursing. In return we will offer you excellent learning and developmental opportunities.
