The post-holder will work alongside medical and clinical oncology colleagues at the Royal Free, Chase Farm and Barnet heath units and will be essential for service provision as well as the development of the oral SACT clinics. The successful candidate should have experience of working within a multidisciplinary team; have a wide experience in Medical Oncology but in particular in breast management. Main duties of the job

The post-holder will join the oncology team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL) as a 10PA Permanent consultant in breast cancer.1. To further develop and support the breast medical oncology services at the Royal Free, Chase Farm and Barnet health units. 2.     To lead the development of oral SACT clinics across RFL health units 3.     To lead clinical trials in breast cancer. 4. To attend the weekly tumour specific breast MDTs. 5. To take responsibility for the designated clinical workload including all relevant MDMs, out-patient clinics, and review and responsibility for in-patients. 6.  To participate in the consultant on-call rota for oncology at Royal Free health unit (1 in 18). 7.     To provide postgraduate teaching for junior staff. 8.To provide clinical supervision for specialist registrars. 9.To participate in undergraduate medical student teaching.10.  To comply with all the clinical governance processes and procedures of the Trust11.  Compliance with Patients’ Charter and Purchasers’ requirements.12.  To be departmental audit lead and participate in medical audit as per Royal College of Physicians guidelines.13.  To maintain Continuing Professional Development accreditation as per Royal College of Physicians guidelines. 14.  To participate in the Trust appraisal programme and GMC revalidation processes.

Person specification

Education

Essential criteria
  • MRCP or equivalent medical degree
  • Full GMC Registration
  • CCST or CCT in Clinical or Medical Oncology and on the specialist register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview
Desirable criteria
  • Post Graduate degree
