Job overview

To deliver effectively, as part of a team and individually where applicable,
specific Ophthalmic clinical assessments including assessment of visual acuity, Intraocular pressure, visual fields, ophthalmic imaging and OCT testing.


This will be patients who attending a diagnostic clinic at Wood Green Shopping Centre. The post holder will be required to have understanding on basic ophthalmic terminology and history taking and training will be provided.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a  ophthalmic technicians to work in the  ophthalmic department  at Royal Free hospital  which is part of the Royal Free London ophthalmology service.   The unit ,  see's  patients with a number of ophthalmology conditions, including medical retina and glaucoma.  

Working in a friendly modern environment you’ll carry out Ophthalmic technical and imaging procedures including OCT, Visual fields, visual acuity assessment and intraocular pressure checks.

Previous experience in Ophthalmology would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

In addition to the ophthalmology department   at Royal Free Hospital   hospital, we also have ophthalmic clinics in other hospitals within the trust and you may be expected to work there if needed.
