Job overview

The primary purpose of ODL is: a catalyst for change in leadership impact at scale and depth beyond this moment.

This purpose exists in service of enabling the RFL Group to deliver on its stated aims, ambitions, strategic objectives and priorities.

We operate as an internal consultancy delivering value to the Group in the following ways:

We engage at a strategic level.  Our approach is to be agile, credible and impactful group wide; and to provide a catalyst for change in our culture and leadership.
Linked directly to RFL strategic priorities. The Group Executive direct ODL priorities.
We use our expertise to enable change at the individual, team and leadership system level.  Our work is anchored in outcomes that make a positive difference and build sustainable change.
We operate as a connector across the organisation and work strategically with other RFL change agent teams.
In the interests of progress, our work focuses on compassionately disrupting unhelpful patterns, behaviours and practices.
ODL purposefully works with dialogic ODL practices – those that expand the range of voices in all conversations in order to create shared meaning, generate new knowledge that leads to transformational change.
We work as a single integrated team, deploying ourselves individually, in pairs or as one team to the highest priority areas of intervention.

The role covers 3 areas :

Individual Leadership Development
Intact Team development
Talent Management & Succession Planning

Main duties of the job

Work in a small in-house team to design and deliver hi-impact ODL interventions across the Group. These interventions will seek to bring about an increase in leadership impact (as measured against significant business issues) at an individual and collective leadership team level.

Work on your own - or with other ODL consulting colleagues - with teams of leaders at a service and divisional level to enable them to adapt and change relative to their own business priorities and desired outcomes, ensuring there is adequate internal leadership to support delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives.

·         Create strong and productive client relationships (where ability to challenge in service of learning is a key proof point), engaging with senior clients from initial consultation through design, diagnostic and delivery and post-delivery/change realisation phases.

· Act as a humble thought leader on all aspects of organisational and leadership development, providing expert insight and consultancy advice to challenge and enable leaders across the trust.

·  Be accountable for a portfolio of the more complex and challenging projects while supervising, supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues in the delivery of their projects and client facing work.

Support/lead the architecting, design and delivery of the Individual Development Leadership portfolio as required
