About the team:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Promotion Trainer to join a specialist team developing and delivering initiatives central to the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust’s (SLaM) mission statement commitment to promote mental health and wellbeing for all. This unique service is comprised of people with wide-raging expertise including trainers, researchers, mental health clinicians and people with lived experience dedicated to promoting mental health to whole populations.

The service provides mental health and well-being interventions and workshops, community development initiatives and events and innovative research projects. Our interventions are holistic, linking physical and mental health, acknowledging the importance of preventative strategies and early detection and the promotion of meaningful living connected to personal goals and dreams.

About the role:

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to design, develop and deliver innovative interventions. You will have a background in organisational psychology, public health or mental health and proven training credentials. Ideally, you will be able to offer interventions that include workplace wellbeing and public mental health interventions including Mindfulness and Mental Health First Aid. Most importantly, you will have a passion for improving public mental health for all.

There is a requirement to work some unsocial hours, including weekends. Supervision is provided along with excellent training opportunities.

About the location:

Our Trust headquarters is located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2).  We also provide services and operate across other locations, such as London boroughs of Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark; and substance misuse services for residents of Bexley, Lambeth, Greenwich and Wandsworth.
