This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Consultant Neurophysiologist to join the friendly and cohesive Neurophysiology teams at St George’s University Hospitals and Croydon University Hospitals.
This is a recently created post and forms part of our regional network in Neurophysiology, ensuring best practice and common governance standards across the SW London and Surrey region. St George’s Hospital is the tertiary neuroscience centre within this network.
The purpose of this post is to expand the current Neurophysiology team at St George’s and join the Neurophysiology team at Croydon University Hospital. There is diverse expertise across the region with a strong record in teaching, training and research. The post holder will be expected to carry out out-patient and in-patient EMG, EEG and video-telemetry reporting.
Main duties of the job
Neurophysiology at St George’s Hospital is part of the Department of Neurology, Neurosciences Directorate and is staffed by both clinical neurophysiologists and neurologists. The St George’s department provides all core neurophysiology investigations, while also providing EEG video telemetry for the region and other specialised investigations including single fibre EMG, magnetic stimulation and pelvic floor neurophysiology. Clinical neurophysiologists participate in specialised neurology services for epilepsy and epilepsy surgery, peripheral nerve and muscle disorders and EMG guided botulinum toxin injections. The department also provides neurophysiology services for the department of Paediatric Neurology, including the Special Care Baby Unit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- GMC registration
- CCST or CCT in Clinical Neurophysiology or equivalent, or within 6 months of obtaining it.
- Registration with a Medical Defence Organisation for insurance and indemnity

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
