Band 5 Staff nurse – Adult Critical Care
We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and dynamic nurses to join our friendly and well-staffed critical care. This busy ICU/HDU directorate runs across several areas or units and cares for over 6,500 level 2-3 emergency and elective patients a year. We look after patients who need input from a broad range of specialities, including trauma, cardiac, neuroscience, vascular, general & specialist medicine, obstetrics, plastic surgery and orthopaedics. We are proud of the outstanding care we deliver and the fantastic teams we work with. Critical care at St George’s has a strong research culture and a team which encourages innovation and clinical excellence.
St George’s is a leading NHS Foundation Trust employing over 4,000 staff and one of London’s designated major trauma centers. We have several adult intensive care units on the same site and we are rapidly expanding.
Band 5 staff nurse: You will be a nurse with previous post-registration experience, who is organised, has good attention to detail and a strong desire to care for critically ill patients. We provide a supportive education programme at the beginning of your employment, to facilitate the development of your knowledge and clinical skills. Once initial competency levels are achieved, we will further develop you with a university-approved intensive care course. Thereafter, there is opportunity to rotate to other adult critical care units, ED resus and, if requested, paediatric ICU to continue to build confidence and skills.
***The Assessment Centre will take place on Tuesday 18th August 2020, 10am start. There will be a written paper followed by an interview***
