Community Dietitian
Band 6
Job overview
We have a fixed term vacancy for a part-time Band 6 Community Dietitian to cover maternity leave until the end of November 2025, in our friendly community dietetics team covering the Wandsworth area. The working hours are 18.75 hours per week (0.5wte) and flexible working hours can be agreed. The team is located at St John’s Therapy Centre, in a convenient location near Clapham Junction in Battersea.
The community dietetics team at St John’s Therapy Centre works closely with the acute dietetics department at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, to ensure safe discharge and community follow-up.
Main duties of the job
You will deliver a general service for adults within community dietetics clinics based in health centres across Wandsworth, with a mixed caseload including nutrition support, IBS, diabetes and weight management. You will also have a general domiciliary caseload and visit people in their own homes.
You will be supervised by a Band 7 Specialist Community Dietitian and have the opportunity to work with other specialist Community Dietitians to develop your skills in nutrition support, home enteral feeding and diabetes.
If you work well as part of a team and have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, we look forward to receiving your application. We are looking for a highly motivated dietitian with a range of postgraduate experience in general dietetics. Experience in the community/primary care setting is desirable, though not essential.
As this is a community post, you will be required to travel around Wandsworth. You can use public transport or you can use your own car or bicycle if you prefer.
