  • We have 6 procedure rooms and undertake a wide range of procedures including OGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, Bronchoscopy,EBUS and EMR. The unit houses the Southwest London Bowel Cancer Screening Centre and is JAG accredited.
  • We pride ourselves on putting our patients first and provide a supportive environment for staff to train in Endoscopy both in a formal and informal setting.
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 nurse to support in leading, developing and managing a team for the pre-admission service for endoscopic procedures.
  • This is a full-time post working within the pre-admission team.

Main duties of the job

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Endoscopy Senior Staff Nurse who is interested in gaining further leadership and management skills in this innovative and busy specialities.
  • Successful post holder will already possess excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a busy and dedicated team. 
  • You need to be RN with a desirable endoscopy clinical experience.
  • This position will require someone that is confident in their knowledge and delivery of excellence in every aspect of patients care.
  • To support and deputise Endoscopy Nurse Manager to ensure the provision of excellent nursing care and the effective management of staff and other resources

  • Also to carry out the day-to day management and co-ordination of the Endoscopy unit. To ensure that there are education and training opportunities for all staff.

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse
  • ENB998 or equivalent teaching qualifications
Desirable criteria
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise, plan and organise the daily workload of the Endoscopy Unit

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the application of evidence based practice
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of teaching Endoscopy nursing skills

  • -Motivates and demonstrates enthusiasm for the clinical speciality
