• We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse with the commitment, drive and passion to deliver outstanding care & training within the Haematology and Oncology department at St. George’s University Hospital. • This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Haematology/Oncology nurse with a enthusiasm and specialist interest in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT), particularly with regards to training and service improvement.
• You will play a major role in improving care and services within the day case & inpatient setting and work collaboratively with pharmacists, consultants, unit managers and lead SACT nurse to ensure excellence in patient care and service provision.
• You will be responsible for education and development of the nursing staff throughout the Haematology & Oncology department and the wider trust on the safe delivery of SACT and promote a learning environment that ensures current evidence-based practice and optimal service delivery.
• You will have a wealth of skills and knowledge in relation to all aspects of SACT including patient education, patient assessment, and administration of SACT and management of complications and will use this knowledge to deliver direct patient care, review and development of policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job

• Expert clinical practice within cancer care
• Responsible for the delivery of SACT Education (including to non-malignant nurses)
• Involvement within service improvement projects
• Research and audit
• Act as a leader and role model 
• Provide SACT administration on outlying wards with the trust
• To work as an autonomous practitioner and effectively deliver an expert nursing service within the specialist area
