Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Private Healthcare Service to appoint a Lead Midwife for the Private Maternity Services at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing, University College Hospital.
UCLH has ambitious plans to expand and enhance its private patient services — supporting exceptional patient care while generating income to further strengthen the Women’s Health Division. This post offers an excellent opportunity to join our Private Healthcare Team, working closely with clinicians and patients to deliver high-quality, personalised, and customer-focused care within The Fitzrovia Suite.
The successful candidate will provide strong leadership to dedicated midwifery teams and ward areas, setting clinical standards and ensuring the consistent delivery of outstanding care in line with private healthcare expectations. As a key member of the private healthcare management team, you will play an integral role in promoting safe, high-quality clinical care aligned with divisional business objectives.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual with excellent organisational and decision-making skills. A strong understanding of private healthcare service expectations is highly desirable. You should be able to lead and inspire midwifery and clinical teams, build effective relationships with consultants and NHS colleagues, and demonstrate a proven ability to deliver exceptional patient experiences and clinical excellence with a professional, “can-do” approach.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing and dynamic team, directly influencing the quality of care provided to private maternity patients. For the right candidate, this role offers both challenge and reward — along with the chance to develop your leadership skills and advance your career within a high-profile and successful NHS Trust.
