Working as a deputy to the Matron in Medical specialties focusing on our clinical pharmacology ward and supporting our ward for complex older peoples service. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work as a deputy to the Matron in Medical specialties focusing on our clinical pharmacology ward and supporting our ward for complex older peoples service. 

This is a permanent position at Band 8A.

Person specification

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register
  • Teaching course
  • Recognised Leadership course
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant clinical course Honours degree (Level 3/ FHEQ Level 6)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Operational management
  • Familiarity with basic IT
Desirable criteria
  • experience in acute hospital setting
  • Manager on-call

Communication

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates understanding of good practice in customer care
