Job overview

Applicants are invited for the Advanced Clinical Training Fellowship in Movement Disorders/Deep Brain Stimulation (Advanced Neurology SPR Level) working at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), Queen Square. The holder of this post will work as part of the Neurology team of the Unit of Functional Neurosurgery 


The 12-month full time clinical fellowship is available from September 2025.

Main duties of the job

The fellow will support the neurology activity of the consultants of the Unit of Functional Neurosurgery, in particular monitoring patient outcome and programming DBS. They will take part in research projects and audits conducted in the Unit.

Person specification

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Completion of CMT training or equivalent
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Experience in Neurology
  • Experience of DBS management
  • Full GMC Registration. NB: Non-UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register by date of appointment.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality, data protection, Good Clinical Practice and GDPR
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of the NHS
  • Understanding of research methodology

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Management of medical or neurology patients
Desirable criteria
  • Clinical Audit
  • Previous data-analysis

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria
  • IT proficiency at advanced user level (Spreadsheet, Word Processing, Database, Email)

  • Completion of projects, audit, quality improvement and service developments related to Neurology
