Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the demands of the service to treat large numbers of general paediatric ENT patients in outpatients and the operating theatre. One of the clinics at the Whittington hospitals will also include general adult ENT patients.
There is the opportunity for more complex work depending on the skills of the successful candidate.

We have an excellent working relationship with the ENT team at GOSH. This is a reciprocal arrangement for sharing advice on management for complex cases. There is both a rhinology airway MDT across the 2 sites. The candidate will be expected to join the airway MDT.
UCLH has an active role in looking at novel approaches to reduce waiting times for new consultations and reducing the need for follow ups. This includes expansion of community based clinics alongside improved triage processes. The appointee will be expected to participate in this effort and bring their own innovative ideas.

The surgical department is building a bespoke paediatric day surgery unit. RNENTEDH surgeons will be using the majority of this service so the appointee will play a key role in ensuring the facility is used effectively.
There is an expectation to engage in quality improvement projects and audit. There are key projects which require particular attention and the appointee will be guided towards these.
