Looking for a new challenge? An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Services pharmacy team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as we expand our technical workforce.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistant to support us in the delivery of excellent hospital pharmacy services.

Main duties of the job

This is an opportunity to join our friendly, committed team working in a support role. This role will be integral in supporting the provision of clinical services to patients on the wards and in clinical areas within the Macmillan Cancer Centre. As part of this role, you will be providing dispensing services, together with assisting with the supply of medicines to help facilitate a streamlined workflow ensuring key performance targets are met.
This is a fantastic opportunity for professional development. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and able to work independently. A flexible and adaptable approach to work and a commitment to self-development is essential.
If you are interested in this post, you will need previous experience of working in either a hospital or community pharmacy and have a minimum of NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services or equivalent.

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • A General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) recognised qualification for pharmacy support staff E.g. a Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent (obtained either in community or hospital)
  • GSCE Maths and English (grades A to C) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of procedures for pharmacy services
  • Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems
Desirable criteria
  • HEE MOP modules (in POD assessment and transcribing)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of stock control
  • Experience of dispensing
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Experience of working in a team
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience in hospital pharmacy practice
  • Appropriate experience of working a in hospital pharmacy environment
