Head of Audiology Diagnostic Services

NHS AfC: Band 8c

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the highest performing specialist NHS Acute Trusts in the UK as Head of Audiology Diagnostic Services. UCLH has a global research reputation in collaboration with our partners UCL. As well as a UK-wide speciality services reach, we also provide academically-led acute and specialist services to people from our local area of North London.

In 2019, the Royal National Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital and the Eastman Dental Hospital relocated into a purpose-built facility known as the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals (RN ENT EDH) on Huntley Street, which is close to some of our centrally located UCLH sites. The hospital provides a prestigious ENT and Dental service, and is renowned for the high quality care it provides. Our services are provided by progressive multidisciplinary teams and gives expert treatment, advice and support to both ENT and Dental patients.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Audiology Diagnostic Services is a key leadership role across the hospital. As head of service the post holder will be responsible for the management and strategic development of the paediatric and adult multi-disciplinary services for audiology and vestibule diagnostics, within UCLH, which includes the provision of hearing aid amongst other specialist services. The postholder will be the key link working collaboratively and forming strong relationships with colleagues across ENT and Audio Vestibular Medicine to ensure holistic patient centred care.

Having recently completed a restructure of the audiology leadership team and welcomed new heads of paediatric and adult audiology and introduced a training and development lead for audiology, as well as having recently had a £0.5m business case signed off the capital redevelopment of our paediatric audiology suite, this is a very exciting time to be joining a dynamic and expert team.
