Main duties of the job

- Registered Mental Health Nurse registered on the NMC register
- Working towards Mentorship qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Undertake all work as guided by the NMC protocols and Code of Conduct
- Work within Codes of Practice and Professional guidelines.
- Co-ordinate shifts effectively on a day to day basis
- Care Programme Approach Clinical supervision
- Experience of Inpatient Mental Health
- Experience of completing assessment and providing plans of care for patients that are in acute state of crisis.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with individuals that have complex physical health care needs and ensuring the receive the appropriate nursing care
Knowledge

- To understand and have experience of risk management.
- Good communication skills both verbally and written
- Able to contribute to complex discussions around patient’s care
- Able to challenge decisions that are not in line with best practice.
- Health Act Code of practice and its relationship to the detention and treatment of mental health patients Understanding the relationship between restrictive practice and violence.
- Clear understanding of how to engage with patients who are distressed and in Crisis.
