Job overview

Partners Procurement Services (PPS) delivers operational procurement and buying services at scale, ensuring timely supply, policy compliance and a high standard of customer service across its member Trusts.

We are expanding our team of Operational Buyers to support Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust as they join PPS as a member. GOSH is a world-leading children’s hospital, where reliable supply of consumables and equipment directly supports highly specialised clinical care.

Main duties of the job

You will process requisitions, raise purchase orders, liaise with suppliers, resolve delivery and invoice issues, and support compliance with procurement procedures. You will work closely with the PPS help desk and systems teams to ensure a smooth service for users.

As part of a shared service, you will also support other Trusts over time, gaining broad experience across NHS procurement.

Full details are contained in the Job Description

Working for our organisation

This role offers a strong foundation in NHS procurement within a supportive shared service, with the opportunity to contribute to the work of one of the world’s most respected paediatric hospitals.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff.  We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief.  The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
