Job overview

At the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), we’re not just about producing world-class guidance—we’re about creating a workplace where people feel empowered, supported, and inspired. Our People Services Team is central to that mission, and the People Hub is set to become the gateway to everything we do.

As our new People Hub Team Lead, you’ll lead a small, dedicated team and play a pivotal role in shaping how colleagues access People support. You’ll work closely with the Head of Resourcing and Intelligence to help design and deliver a brand-new People Hub—one that’s modern, responsive, and built around exceptional customer service.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with generalist HR experience who’s ready to step into a leadership role. You’ll collaborate across the full People Directorate, gaining exposure to areas like employee relations, learning and development, resourcing, and organisational development—making it the perfect platform to grow your career while making a real impact.

Interviews are anticipated to take place in early September.

Main duties of the job

In this varied and impactful role, you’ll take the lead on delivering and continuously improving the day-to-day operations of the People Hub, ensuring a high-quality, customer-focused service across all areas of People support.

  • Leading and coaching a small team to deliver exceptional, customer-focused HR support
  • Overseeing the day-to-day running of the People Hub and ensuring timely, accurate responses to a wide range of People queries
  • Playing a key role in designing and implementing a new, modern People Hub model
  • Using data and digital tools to identify trends, improve service delivery, and inform decision-making
  • Supporting managers with sickness absence and wellbeing, and escalating complex cases where needed
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams, trade unions, and external partners
  • Driving continuous improvement through KPIs, performance reporting, and feedback
  • Championing a values-led, inclusive, and restorative culture across all People practices

Working for our organisation

As part of the People team and wider Facilities, Improvement & People Directorate, we’ve achieved:

  • Elevated Engagement: We've soared to new heights, as the leading Directorate to become the top-performing team in the organisation!
