Milton Keynes inpatient services consist of two adult acute wards, an older adult ward and 7 bed rehabilitation unit.

You would be working in a thriving multi-disciplinary team. Psychology is an established aspect of the inpatient service, spanning a range of duties and functions including assessment, formulation, intervention as well as staff support and training. You would play a key role in developing formulations and contributing to care plans in a timely fashion for patients coming on the ward, particularly those with Complex Emotional Needs where the length of stay is likely to be brief.  You will also support the development of trauma informed approaches across the inpatient services.

We are recovery focused, and deliver person centred, compassion focused and trauma informed care. Milton Keynes were proud to be the first inpatient unit within the Trust to develop peer worker roles, and now the role of lived experience practitioners is now firmly established across CNWL and peer support workers play a full part in the inpatient team. . CNWL is also an ‘early adopter’ for Open Dialogue within the UK and there would be opportunities for the post holder to provide leadership in this regard.

Please note: The job description for this post is based on Band 8a competencies.  However, newly qualified applicants will also be considered at Band 7 with a preceptorship period.
