We have a new vacancy for a Registrar position.
The post to be recruited to will be based on wards at the PRUH and at Orpington.
The post-holder will be expected to attend morning board rounds, ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings run from their base ward. He/she will be expected to help organize and support the junior staff in the day-to-day running of the ward, ensure discharge summaries are appropriately completed by junior staff, and help coordinate discharge planning.

There are occasionally medical outliers on other wards that will need to be managed by the ward teams and shared care of patients on critical care. When present on the ward the post holder will provide support to the whole ward as required for seriously ill patients and emergencies.
Each day starts with all patients review with Consultant prioritising sick patient and early discharges followed by Morning board round with Nursing and allied teams.

The management of inpatient stay is one of the trust’s key performance areas. As well as managing attendances in collaboration with acute medicine and Emergency Care, we are also closely associated with innovative and collaborative Intermediate Care schemes such as the Home based rehabilitation team and Bed Based rehabilitation team. A team of Discharge coordinators, responsible for the management of complex discharges across the Hospital, also works from within the PRUH.

As an employee of the Trust you will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients. Effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty.
Sustaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with King’s College London / KHP
Undertaking all work in accordance with the Trust’s procedures and operating policies
Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust’s service plans
Maintaining the confidence of business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, the Care Group or the Trust.
