Qualifications

  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Relevant First Degree in health care related subject
  • Specialist Critical Care nursing qualification at level six
  • Formal Leadership training
  • Formal management training
  • Relevant teaching/mentoring qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing dynamic continuing professional development linked to NMC registration standards

  • Master's degree in leadership or working towards
  • PSIRF methodology training
  • PNA qualification

Knowledge & Experience

  • Extensive experience at a senior level in a relevant critical care environment
  • Experience in teaching, mentorship and supervision of staff
  • Experience of managing professional development and professional conduct issues
  • Management of complaints, DOC, and incidents, including implementation of proportionate and meaningful learning.
  • Experience triangulating data to inform service priorities
  • Managing the recruitment process
  • Experience of introducing change to clinical environment
  • Experience in service development and business planning
  • Knowledge of current developments in healthcare and government policies
  • Experience implementing PSIRF methodology (e.g. facilitate AAR discussions)
  • Knowledge of Martha’s Rule and implications in practice

  • Experience in leading on quality, governance, clinical audit, performance standards and clinical improvements.
