We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and ambitious Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic Team. The post holder must be keen to learn and develop with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This post is based at Newham University Hospital. 
At Barts Health we take pride in developing our staff to progress. Within the Pharmacy department we offer several opportunities to do this. You will participate in training initiatives to meet both individual and departmental goals. As a Band 2 Pharmacy Assistant who holds a NVQ Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy services, you will have the opportunity to be enrolled on HEE Medicine Optimisation Course to undertake Transcription of Medicines and POD checking at Ward level.

Main duties of the job

  • This post provides the post holder with the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and experience in day-to-day delivery of pharmacy service to patients, in conjunction with the patient services and clinical pharmacy teams.
  • The post holder will be responsible for dispensing inpatient and discharge medicines, stock management and some clinical pharmacy services
