๐Ÿš— As this role spans clinics, community hubs, and home visits, being a car driver is essential.

Main duties of the job

๐Ÿ”‘ What You will Be Doing

  • ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ Delivering specialist wound care to high-risk patients across community, hospital & domiciliary settings.
  • ๐Ÿฆถ Providing expert treatment in community settings to support patients with complex podiatric needs.
  • ๐Ÿ“š Creating and following evidence-based care plans to ensure the highest standards of treatment.
  • ๐Ÿค Mentoring and supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge & contributing to our positive team culture.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Building strong, positive relationships with GPs, other health professionals, and patients to deliver seamless care.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).


Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement โ€“ London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of ยฃ4,313 and a maximum payment of ยฃ5,436 per annum pro rata).

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Diploma/Degree in Podiatric Medicine
  • Evidence of continual Professional Development
  • Evidence of post graduate training or equivalent experience (diabetic foot module)
  • Registration with HCPC

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years working in the NHS as a podiatrist
  • Experience of communicating across internal and external boundaries
  • Experience of governance , quality and audit
  • Experience of multi-agency working
  • Experience in treating diabetic foot ulceration

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • An awareness of NHS priorities
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of current NHS strategy , and clinical governance priorities

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Basic awareness of IT and IT skills
  • Enthusiasm, integrity, confident, positive attitude
  • Commitment to own development

  • Applicant will need to be car driver with valid UK Licence (this criteria will be reasonable adjusted to meet the requirements of a disabled applicant) and access to a car for work purposes. As they will need to travel throughout the area and provide podiatry for a domiciliary high risk caseload
