Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Respiratory Specialist, Physiotherapist or Nurse, to join our community Respiratory Care Team. We assess and treat adults living in the London borough of Richmond.

Main duties of the job
What will you do?
- Provide specialist respiratory interventions
- Complete specialist respiratory assessments including blood gases and spirometry. Training and competencies provided for these service specific skills
- Deliver Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes
- Assess for and prescribe Home Oxygen therapy
- Work collaboratively with Primary, Community and Secondary care
- Manage a caseload of patients
- Travel is an integral part of the role, it is essential that you are able to travel to a variety of clinic and community sites and to patients homes within Richmond borough during the working day.

- Experience with computer records (CRS, SystmOne, EMIS etc)
Desirable criteria
- Ability to use word, excel etc
- Previous use of SystmOne
Autonomous / Community working
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in the community
- Car driver +/- access to vehicle for work purposes
Desirable criteria
- Proposed mode of transport for community work
Service development
Essential criteria
- Previous involvement with QI projects
- Involvement with service development
Desirable criteria
- Completed QI training (ie. white / yellow belt)
Experience of COPD / Resp pts
Essential criteria
- > 3 years experience as Band 5 or above in medical / critical care settings
- Worked with COPD / resp patients in community / primary settings
Desirable criteria
- Encountered COPD / resp patients in acute / other settings
Experience of Pulmonary Rehab
Essential criteria
- Delivered / provided PR service
- Aware of importance of PR with COPD management
Desirable criteria
- Experience with PR outcome measures; ISWT, strength testing
- Aware of PR accreditation scheme
Experience of Home 02 patients
Essential criteria
- Aware of HOSAR within long term respiratory management
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of assessment for Home 02 (walk test, blood gases)
- HOOF prescriber
