Job overview
The Radiology Departments provide a wide range of imaging services including fully digital General X-ray Department, CT, MRI, Neuro and Vascular & Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Angiography, DEXA, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 Radiographer to join our Team in Plain Films as part of the BHRUT recruitment drive. This is an excellent job opportunity for an individual who wishes to enhance their skills in a busy department. It is essential that you are a good communicator and team player, and that you can work unassisted in all general areas within the department.
Your plain film radiography should be of the highest standard. You will form part of a team of staff in the Imaging Department responsible for the provision of a safe, efficient, high-quality service working in accordance with X-Ray Department and Trust protocols. The successful candidate will support the Imaging Department's Senior team in achieving the departmental and Trust objectives and will supervise and advise newly Qualified/Junior Radiographers, Undergraduate Students and Assistant Practitioners.
You will be required to work flexibly; we are a 7-day working department. Post will include participation in the on-call rota. Applicants should have recent NHS experience.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will support the Band 7 Lead Radiographers in the day-to-day running of the clinical services within the radiology department.
To fulfil a teaching and supervisory role with peers, Junior staff and Students on placement.

Our patients are benefitting from our Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub in Hornchurch.
These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
The majority of our 8,000 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.

- Hold BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, College of Radiographers Diploma or equivalent.
