Main duties of the job
What You’ll Do
- Deliver High-Quality Clinical Care: Provide day-to-day podiatry services, ensuring the needs of patients are always your top priority.
- Lead with Compassion: Demonstrate empathetic leadership skills, inspiring colleagues by modelling excellent clinical practice and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Drive Transformation: Contribute to the creation and rollout of new care models, positively impacting and enhancing the patient experience throughout Harrow.
- Collaborate Across Sectors: Partner with local CCGs, PCNs, the Local Authority, and acute Trusts to strengthen ties and deliver cohesive care.

What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified Band 5 Podiatrist wanting to develop into a Band 6 / Band 6 depending on clinical experience with a passion for community-based care.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate others, while remaining open to learning and growth.
- A team player who’s excited to innovate, embrace new ideas, and help shape our evolving services.
- A commitment to inclusive and person-centred care, ensuring every patient feels seen, heard, and supported.

Education/Qualification
Essential criteria
- BSc Degree In Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior 1991)
- Registration with the Health Professions Council
- Certificate in local anaesthesia
Desirable criteria
- POM certificate
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease / pathology types including the at-risk and high-risk foot
Desirable criteria
- Experience of clinical supervision / mentoring
- Experience of service development
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
- Knowledge of podiatric theory and practice
- Knowledge of SOCAP code of conduct
- Awareness of Equal Opportunities – theory and practice
- Understanding of Clinical Governance -theory
- Up-to-date knowledge of clinical issues and treatment development
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of audit

Essential criteria
- Ability to evaluate and analyse patients concerns and needs and propose effective solutions
- Ability to undertake intricate work in using sensitive diagnostic tools and a range of surgical instruments. e.g. in the management and debridement of poor tissue viability wounds and nail surgery
- Organisational and planning skills to manage your own work time.
- Experience of delivering health education

- IT Skills including use of Internet, e-mail, Word Processing
