(Forensic Service)
The West London Health Trust NHS consists of 3 main forensic receptions which range from Men’s/Adolescent Low-Medium Secure and a Woman’s Enhanced Medium Secure Unit all of which are all located on the St Bernard’s Hospital site. The successful applicant will be expected to work in all 3 Sister Receptions with a combination of Day and Night rotational basis in order to provide a wide range of Security, Reception and Administrative duties.
Long Days – 06:30 – 21:30hrs
Cross Shift – 09:30 – 20:00hrs
Flexi Shift – Hours are dependent on needs of the Service
Night Shift – 21:10 – 07:00
Main duties of the job
Security duties will include:
- Operation of Security Doors
- The issuing and recording of Security items to staff members working within the units.
- Accounting for all Security items via audits at the beginning and the end of each shift.
- Maintaining an accurate record of the times Service Users /Visitors enter and exit the unit.
- Booking in and out Visitors to the Unit in accordance with our Visitor Policy.
- Assistance with the Search process for all Visitors and Service Users.
- Ensuring the Security of the Unit is never compromised.
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Administrative duties will include:
- Processing incoming and out going mail.
- Approve/ review booking requests for all Visitors via the online Exchange booking in system
- Accepting and redistributing delivers.
- Dealing with general telephone inquiries from internal and external parties.
- Providing an information service to Service Users, Visitors and Staff.
- General office duties.

- At least 1 year’s experience as a receptionist/front of house staff
- Demonstrated ability to sustain initiative and direction under difficult circumstances.
- Demonstrated ability to work within and show understanding of equal opportunities
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience within an NHS setting.
- Experience of dealing with mentally ill patients.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a receptionist/front of house staff.
Knowledge/Skills

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
