Band 3 Community Respiratory Rehabilitation Assistant

Band 3

West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for experienced Respiratory Assistant / Admin to join the Home Oxygen Service - Assessment Review (HOSAR) team in the day to day running of the service.

This is a hugely exciting opportunity to be a part of nurses and physiotherapist providing excellent care for patients with complex health problems receiving oxygen therapy as part of their care.

You will be part of a supportive, forward thinking service line and will help us make a difference at West London NHS Trust whilst being supported with acquiring new Respiratory Skills.

Main duties of the job

The role involves working closely with a Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist and Respiratory CNS to provide on-going support to help patients maximize their independence, to inform patients about their treatment plans, and to link in with GPs, other stake holders and other services as required.

You will oversee day-to-day management of the team’s calendar as well as have clinical day(s) visiting patients in their own home for education on how to manage their environment and carry out fire risk assessment.

This is a fulfilling role as it gives you an opportunity to have a therapeutic relationship with patients that you otherwise will only deal with over the phone
