Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking for a permanent, full-time role where your skills can transform lives? This is your chance to work within the Islington MDT Stroke and Neuro Team, a collaborative and supportive environment where you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary powerhouse including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants.

Your work will span diverse settings: from inpatient facilities to clients’ homes, residential care, workplaces, and even leisure facilities. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

   

As an OT in this team, you’ll:

  • Assess and treat clients with complex mobility, cognitive, and neurological needs, helping them regain control over their daily lives.
  • Lead with creativity and compassion: Use upper limb rehabilitation, adaptive strategies, and personalized interventions to address physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, person-centered care that aligns with the Trust’s commitment to fairness, accessibility, and inclusivity.

  • Be a key player in shaping individualized treatment plans, whether it’s through equipment provision, home adaptations, or health education.

Education and Qualification

Essential criteria
  • degree in OT or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • post grad courses - normal movement, counselling, neurology, COOP, Postural management

Skills and Abilities

  • demonstrates active involvement in MDT work
  • demonstrates strong clinical reason skills with assessment and treatment planning
  • demostrates use of safe manual handling practices
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a long worker

  • Demonstrates a client centred approach to care

knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates strong concepts of OT role within community neuro rehab
  • shows knowledge of up to date evidence based practice including a variety of neuro assessment and treatment approaches
  • previous experience in the NHS
  • previous experience in stroke and neuro community rehabilitation
  • Experience working in the NHS
