Patient Pathway Assistant Endoscopy Band 3

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Planned Care Division for a full time Endoscopy Receptionist / Administrator based in the Endoscopy Department at Epsom and St Helier Hospital. 

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and to prioritise/organise their own workload.

The job will be predominantly based at St Helier Hospital but some cross site working at Epsom Hospital will be required. 

Based in a specialty clinical team, the post holder will support all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, reception, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment &/or discharge.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will assist the provision of the highest quality patient care through dedicated administrative and clerical support to medical and nursing staff and continuous improvement. Based in a specialty clinical team, the post holder will support all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, reception, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment &/or discharge. The postholder will provide a patient focused service that supports clinical staff in the provision of efficient integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure that patients are fit, willing and able to be treated and that they are treated in the right place, by the right person, at the right time. The post holder will ensure high levels of patient care by assisting the Patient Pathway Coordinators and by being an accessible, customer focused and knowledgeable point of contact.

Essential criteria
  • • Good general education with GCSE or equivalent in English at grade C or above.
Desirable criteria
  • Continued education beyond GCSE

Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Knowledge of a full range of IT/Patient administration systems • Knowledge of patient administration work in a healthcare setting. • Customer Service experience

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • • Computer literate, with experience of using different softwares at the same time • Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection principles • Excellent Interpersonal/Customer Service skills
Desirable criteria
  • • Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets e.g. Excel or similar applications.
