Job overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 6 Staff Nurse to join our pioneering Ambulatory Inpatient Service (AMBIN) at the Oak Cancer Centre. AMBIN is a specialist nurse-led service delivering complex cancer treatments and supportive care to patients in the community, enabling them to remain at home or in designated accommodation whilst maintaining 24-hour access to specialist hospital support.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of ambulatory cancer care, supporting patients receiving complex systemic anti-cancer therapies, stem cell transplant pathways, cellular therapies and advanced supportive treatments that traditionally required inpatient admission. Main duties of the job

  • Ambulatory administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT)
  • Stem cell transplant conditioning pathways
  • Cellular therapies including CAR-T patient pathways
  • Donor Lymphocyte Infusions (DLI)
  • BiTE therapies and associated follow-up care
  • Ambulatory infusion device treatments delivered at home
  • Early supported discharge and ongoing monitoring
  • Seven-day specialist nursing care with 24-hour patient access to support
