Trosolwg o'r swydd

To contribute and participate in the delivery of a comprehensive Health Visiting service in line with the Healthy Child Programme and local service specifications and service model for health visiting that meets the public health needs of local communities.

Contribute to the delivery of Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018), including improving health and life chances for children and families and safeguarding those at risk.

To deliver the role in accordance with CLCH Trust values and behaviours.

Please note that the base stated is The Causeway; however, the vacancy may be based across the Borough and will be dependent on staffing and service need at the time of recruitment.  

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

To deliver the role specific elements of the Universal Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009). Support the work of the 0-19 Public Health Team with planned programmes of public health care and health promotion in accordance with The Healthy Child Programme (DH 2009). Undertake activities as delegated by the Health Visitor, in support of the delivery of the 0-19 service.

Support the delivery of a ‘child focused service’ which promotes good partnership working with parents, nurseries, children’s centres and other agencies. To participate in service development and health improvement activities.

To monitor, maintain and develop the service.

To act as the link 0-19 professional for identified Private, Voluntary and Independent Nurseries in line with local service specification.

  • N.N.E.B./ BTEC Diploma in Child Care or NVQ in Child Care level 3 or equivalent

  • Educated to Diploma level in a health-related subject.

Experience

  • Experience of working with children and families in a formal health, educational or social care setting
  • Evidence of ongoing training in Early Years
  • Experience of working as a team member and on own

  • Experience of leading group work
  • Experience of working in the NHS

Skills

  • Basic skills in numeracy and literacy.
  • IT skills including Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding children
  • Knowledge of normal child development, parenting skills and the importance of play.
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
