Trosolwg o'r swydd

This band 6 Occupational Therapy post offers experienced Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists the opportunity of gaining advanced clinical skills & knowledge in the community.

This post is for 3.5 days per week (0.7 WTE).

The post holder will provide high quality therapy assessments and interventions to a wide variety of patients in liaison with the multidisciplinary team and community partners.

RRRT is a seven-day integrated health and social care service for adults, primarily older people, working in partnership with HRCH and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Council. The service is open 7 days per week from 8am – 8pm (37.5 hours per week). The post holder will be included on the weekend working rota which will include Bank Holidays.

Travel is an integral part of the post so applicants should possess the ability and willingness to travel across the borough for work purposes.

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own clinical and professional work, including the management of patients in your care. 
  • To contribute to service development projects within RRRT or where indicated lead on allocated projects with senior support. 
  • To utilise a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients and carers to progress rehabilitation and treatment programmes. This will include patients who may have difficulties in understanding or communicating, for example those who are hearing impaired, have visual impairments, have learning difficulties, psychological or language difficulties or who may be unable to accept diagnosis
  • To document and record legible written and electronic records of client assessment and treatment in accordance with trust guidelines and local standards and policy.

Experience

  • Completed a minimum of two years qualified therapy experience
  • Post graduate experience that covers core skills in rehabilitation including therapeutic handling and management of people with complex conditions.
  • Broad clinical experience including orthopaedics, general medicine, neurology and older adults
  • Ability to contribute to clinical education of less experienced staff, students or assistants

  • Knowledge and experience of Home First/ Discharge to Assess pathway and occupational therapy as part of hospital discharge

Skills and Abilities
