Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist (Neurophysiology)

 

We are looking for someone who is dedicated and enthusiastic to join our small but experienced team delivering a high quality Neurophysiology service to all specialities with in Croydon University Hospital, GP’s and community services. 

The post holder must be willing to adapt and perform new tests as the department develops.  In addition to the clinical work-load the post holder will be expected to participate in maintaining departmental standards, CPD and audit as well as working closely with the service manager when required on service delivery and future service development.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to perform a range of Neurophysiology tests within the department, on the ward, ITU and SCBU.  The department is looking to expand the number of services currently available which include routine adult and paediatric EEG, sleep deprived and sleep induced EEG, CP NCS clinics for median and ulnar nerve entrapment and neuropathy + consultant NCS/EMG.

 CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team.

 Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.

 Our experienced staff take care of people of all ages across the borough of Croydon.

  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Experience in EEG, NCS and evoked potentials
  • Demonstrates an empathetic, caring and sensitive approach to patients, relatives and carers.

  • Post graduate education
  • Previous supervisory / management experience
