Job overview
We are pleased to announce an opportunity to join our digital leadership team as the Trust’s Clinical Professional Information Officer (CPIO) for Psychology and Psychotherapy. This senior role is central to delivering our refreshed digital strategy and strengthening digitally enabled care across clinical services.
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO), the CPIO will work closely with Professional Leads to enhance digital culture, capability, and engagement across the organisation.
We welcome applications from motivated, approachable, and resilient psychologists and psychotherapists who are passionate about digital innovation and improving patient care through better use of clinical systems.
Main duties of the job
The CPIO will:
• Provide professional digital leadership across the Trust.
• Chair digital meetings and workstreams.
• Lead major digital transformation programmes.
• Support teams in optimising digital workflows and clinical information systems.
• Champion innovation to improve patient outcomes and staff experience.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• Guide informatics-driven change programs, focusing on safe, effective, and patient-centric services.
• Partner with clinicians to integrate clinical practice changes, prioritizing patient safety.
• Offer expertise on digital health technology adoption and workforce digitization.
• Promote a digital culture in clinical practice to enhance decision-making and care standardization.
• Govern healthcare technology use with robust risk management processes.
• Contribute to national Health Informatics development and mentor in clinical informatics.
• Engage in the design and evaluation of clinical informatics systems, driving innovation and continuous improvement.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Healthcare degree or professional qualification (current)
- Registered Clinician
Desirable criteria
- Management and/or leadership qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- An experienced health professional at consultant / senior management level
- Experience of strategy development
- Change management experience related to the planning and delivery of work in a clinical setting.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of undertaking quality improvement projects including the use of Statistical Process Control
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Effective stakeholder engagement skills across diverse groups.
- In-depth knowledge of IT applications in clinical services.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex information, leveraging clinical and data insights.
- Experience in managing change in multi-professional teams
Desirable criteria
- Experience of undertaking quality improvement projects including the use of Statistical Process Control
- Understanding of the local, regional and national commissioning environment and standards expected by commissioners
