Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our close-knit and dynamic team in this exciting gynaecology clinical setting. We are looking for an individual with colposcopy and gynaecology experience who can work autonomously as a clinical expert, manage a caseload of patients within the specialty and demonstrate highly developed specialist knowledge

We believe our staff are our most valuable asset and their dedication and work ethic have melded the gynaecology team into what it is today. We have a diverse skilled workforce, and we are committed to their wellbeing and development.

The post offers a brilliant opportunity for a dynamic nurse to work within defined protocols to apply BSCCP accredited colposcopoy skills to undertake colposcopy procedures within a clinical setting with the ability to analyse symptoms, interpret and report findings to the clinical team. The post holder will also undertake a wide range of advanced clinical interventions including organising investigations, outpatient consultation, and interpretation of test results.

It is essential that you are a good communicator, have colposcopy experience and can challenge practice to ensure delivery of a safe and efficient service.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence a consistent approach to professional leadership under pressure, reflecting behaviours which promote the values of the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will communicate independently with patients and actively involve them in their consultation, procedure and treatment while being responsible for acting within own competence and escalating concerns.

Work within NHS cervical screening and BSCCP guidelines and liaise with members of the multi- professional team both within the organisation and with external stakeholders to ensure care is delivered to patients safely and efficiently.

Please see JD  for main duties of the role.

Working for our organisation

St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George’s Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).

After years of collaboration, our two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. While remaining as two separate Trusts, being a hospitals group will help us to collaborate more closely on research, and the development, education, and training of our 17,000-strong workforce.
