Job overview
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an AHP Preceptorship Lead to join Hillingdon Hospital. You will be working with our AHP services including Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Operating Department Practitioners, Orthoptics, Physiotherapy, Radiography and Speech and Language Therapy. This is a diverse and challenging role that would be suitable for a confident, skilled and dedicated AHP who wants to make a difference. This role will involve leading the delivery of our AHP Preceptorship Programme. Supporting newly registered professionals through the programme, providing structure support within the workplace to develop their competence as autonomous professionals.
Main duties of the job
- To lead the development and implementation of a Preceptorship programme for newly qualified Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).
- To work with Trust preceptorship leads to scope and implement a preceptorship programme for AHPs that meets the Capital AHP/National framework standards and HCPC principles.
- To provide a Trust level report for the local learning and development / education team detailing the options and resourcing requirements to sustain AHP preceptorship.
- To contribute to a NWL AHP preceptorship leads group.

Essential criteria
- Allied Health Professional with current registration with HCPC
- Ensure that own practice standards are current, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Degree or masters or work equivalent
- Knowledge and experience of HEENWL / NHS providers to develop and implement policies
- Knowledge & Experience of keeping accurate and legible records and be aware of the legal implications of those documents.
Desirable criteria
- Post Graduate qualification in Mentoring / Practice Educator
- Masters in Clinical Education or equivalent
- Highly developed experience of using, reviewing and establishing work processes
