Job summary

Digital Services at London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust are deployed to jointly support this Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role supports the Digital Application Manager in providing service operations for the Application portfolio including the management of incidents, requests, developments, user access and problems.

· The post holder delivers end-user support, training, and all processes relating to Application Management for one or more Digital Applications within the team’s portfolio.

· The post-holder will investigate, manage and resolve issues and problems raised against their portfolio, liaising with third-party system suppliers as necessary.

· The post-holder will assist in the development of specifications for any change requests set against the team’s application portfolio.

· The post holder will support strategic planning relating the current and future configuration of the application portfolio and will engage in a variety of work streams within wider Digital Services projects or programmes.

· The post holder will also deliver training programmes for the application portfolio to ensure that business processes are optimised.

Main duties of the job

Participate in training via classroom-based events, supporting the Digital Application Manager to ensure rooms and trainers are organised; and that equipment, software and other materials are available as required.

· Participate in the Trust’s performance appraisal system and to undertake any identified training and development related to the post.

· Responsible for ensuring compliance with the NHS Cyber Assurance Framework.

· Provide a level of support commensurate with the banding of this post to colleagues to improve their knowledge and understanding, and share own knowledge, skills and experience with others.

· Responsible for the self-development of skills and competencies through participation in training and development activities and to maintain up to date technical and professional knowledge relevant to the post.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in IT Systems
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience level of training or experience
  • Track record of continuous professional development.
  • Significant experience in supporting end-users with Digital Applications in a healthcare setting.
  • Significant experience of Application Management including change management, system testing and root cause analysis
  • Significant experience in the planning and delivery of IT training to small and large groups.
  • Customer focus; able to identify, develop and manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of an organisation’s business objectives
  • Ability to interrogate databases via SQL or other means to produce reports for statistical analysis.
Desirable criteria
  • ITIL Foundation or above
  • SQL qualification
  • Training qualification
  • Experience of Application Management including change management, system testing.
  • Acute and community NHS health sector experience.
  • Knowledge of clinical and administrative processes in use across the NHS
