We are currently in the process of redeveloping the hospital to provide a new state-of-the-art hospital for the residents of Hillingdon, and beyond, which supports the very best in delivery of healthcare and will be fit for our future.
Job summary
Dispenses medicines to outpatients and inpatients.
Ensures good housekeeping in the dispensary by keeping benches and baskets clear of drugs no longer required.
Organises and maintains medicine supplies within the dispensary.
Resolution of stock issues according to departmental procedures.
Provide Pharmacy Dispensary support.
Deal with enquiries from patients and healthcare staff.
Undertakes related clerical duties.
Training & supervision.
Dispensing and patient counselling.
Provide a top up service of stock items to wards and departments where required
Cover reception for outpatients and inpatients requiring use of digital systems.
Competent in the use of the automated dispensing equipment and resolves operational

Criteria
Essential criteria
- Minimum NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services
- Accepted standard of basic education to support above
Desirable criteria
- Recent previous experience working in pharmacy within the NHS
- Previous experience of working with the general public in a customer care role
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
