Job overview

To work in conjunction with the Lead Haematology Nurse, Medical Haematology Day Unit manager and Haematology specialist nurses, in the effective management of the haematology/medical patients within the day unit. Liaising closely with the haematology specialist nurses, you will be responsible for booking and organising the care of these patients. To teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff. To be aware of day unit policies and procedures and ensure that these are adhered to.

Main duties of the job

Administer and supervise junior staff in administration of Systemic Anti Cancer Therapies (SACT) according to specific protocols.
Support the patient throughout their journey proving and promoting individualised personalised care.

  • Specialist ENB course or degree modules in Haematology, Chemotherapy
  • ENB A27 / 237 / 100 or related course
