Job overview

This is a great time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as the Trust Speciality Registrar (ST3-5 LEVEL). It’s a full-time position covering the service between Monday – Friday core hours to start asap for 12 months. 

We are currently in the process of redeveloping the hospital to provide a new state-of-the-art hospital for the residents of Hillingdon, and beyond, which supports the very best in delivery of healthcare and will be fit for our future.

Routine obstetric and gynaecology ward management and outpatient clinics with consultant supervision.

The post is suitable for doctors who have completed at least two years training as a ST in obstetrics and gynaecology in the UK (ST3 and above). The Trust Officer is expected to be entirely proficient in the management of all normal pregnancies and their delivery and receive supervised training in abnormal obstetrics and gynaecology.

There are opportunities to develop skills and competencies to those of registrar level under supervision if required.

Main duties of the job

The post holders will be expected to undertake a mixture of general gynaecology and obstetric duties. 

Role Summary: SR duties in both obstetrics and gynaecology, covering antenatal, postnatal and gynaecology wards, antenatal and gynaecology outpatient clinics, the Day Assessment and Triage Units and the Early Pregnancy Unit. Ultrasound training is available and encouraged.

Participation in theatre, rotation through the gynaecology oncology team and active participation in audit are expected. There is the opportunity to participate in the specialist interest clinics in the department including Obstetric Medicine, Fetal Medicine, Rapid Access Clinic and Outpatient Hysteroscopy Clinics.
