If this is you then you may be the person we are looking for to join our Radiology Department at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust working cross site.

We are looking for an experienced manager to join the team in ensuring quality and performance, and key performance indicators are met.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of NHS systems and processes, with a strong understanding of diagnostic service delivery. They will demonstrate proven experience in operational management, data analysis, and staff coordination, alongside excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A proactive and organised approach is essential to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused radiology services.

Main duties of the job

The Assistant Service Manager will support the day-to-day operational delivery of radiology services across both hospital sites, working closely with the Radiology Manager and modality leads. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating diagnostic performance, managing capacity and activity, and ensuring services meet key access and performance targets. They will provide direct line management to administrative and clerical staff, supporting staff development and maintaining appropriate staffing levels. The role involves contributing to service improvement initiatives, handling queries related to diagnostics, and assisting in business planning and financial monitoring. The post holder will also deputise for senior managers as required and represent the service at divisional and trust-wide meetings.
