Job overview

Consultant in Orthopaedics with special interest in Lower Limb arthroplasty & Trauma to work flexibly a 10 PA job plan.

The appointee will work as part of a team of dedicated arthroplasty surgeon at The Hillingdon Hospital, Mount Vernon Hospital and Elective Orthopaedic Centre currently at Central Middlesex Hospital.

Along with our existing team of 15 consultants, the post-holder will provide a comprehensive trauma and orthopaedic service to our local population.

 

The elective orthopaedic centre at Central Middlesex Hospital is one of the newest hospitals in the capital. It’s managed by London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, in partnership with the four hospital trusts in north west London.  The centre is expected to perform around 4,000 procedures each year.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of NWLEOC team and will provide a flexible orthopaedic service to patients with problems of soft tissue knee and primary knee arthroplasty.

The post holder will deliver a high quality and high volume joint replacement service.

The post holder will be responsible for working flexibly for the elective service.

The post holder will take part in departmental teaching, training, governance and performance.

The post holder must be medically qualified with a license to practice, on the GMC specialist register.

The post holder will provide an elective Lower Limb service predominantly focussing on arthroplasty. Experience in revision surgery, whilst not essential, would be desirable.
