Assistant Project Manager

Our vision is to deliver outstanding emergency and urgent care whenever and wherever needed for everyone in London, 24/7, 365 days a year. We are the busiest emergency ambulance service in the UK serving one of the world’s most dynamic and diverse cities. We provide emergency and urgent healthcare that is free to patients at the time they receive it.
We are the only NHS provider trust to serve the whole of London and the nine million people who live in, work in or visit the city. We cover an area of 620sq miles and have more than 8,000 people who work or volunteer for us – rising to 10,000 when including bank staff and students.
We answer around two million 999 calls a year and our crews attend more than 3000 emergencies a day. Our 24-hour 111 integrated urgent care services London answer around two million calls a year.
We play a leading role in integrating access to emergency and urgent care in the capital and are striving to ensure patients receive the right response, in the right place, at the right time
Our main role is to respond to emergency 999 calls, providing medical care to patients across the capital, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Other services we offer include providing pre-arranged patient transport and finding hospital beds. Working with the police and the fire service, we are prepared for dealing with large-scale or major incidents in the capital.

The post-holder is a pivotal member of the Capital Project Team and is responsible for providing a high-level and wide-ranging administrative support to the Capital Project Team.
The post-holder will be required to assist with the planning and delivery of programmes and projects and to lead on specific project work packages in accordance with the Capital Project Team business needs, as well as provide programme and project support to the team and to meet internal and external requirements.
The post holder will play a central role in the delivery and tracking of the portfolio of Programmes and Projects across the organisation on behalf the Capital Project Team.

- Educated to post graduate degree level or equivalent level of knowledge or working at a similar level in a specialist area; specifically a project and programme management office.
Experience

- Advanced experience of Microsoft Word and Outlook, MS Project, PowerPoint and Excel and a comprehensive understanding of packages.
- Experience of preparing reports and presentations.
- Experience of working with individuals at a senior level.
- Familiarity with the Office of Government Commerce (OCG) Projects in a Controlled Environment (PRINCE2) and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) methodologies.
- Extensive experience of organising successful events / conferences
- Experience of managing diaries and differing workloads
Knowledge and Skills

- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and adept keyboard/typing skills.
- Ability to understand, act upon and convey highly complex, time critical information.

- Proven administration experience including minute taking, and follow up administration.
- Able to exercise judgement and analytical skills in relation to planning and subsequent delivery.
- Proven capabilities in process/ problem analysis, challenging existing thinking and generating improvements and solutions.
- Highly effective organisational skills and a flexible approach to work.
- Demonstrate an understanding of NHS procurement processes, systems and regulations.
- Awareness of audit, risk management processes.
- Able to carry out analysis or investigation on behalf of the Programme / Project
