We answer around two million 999 calls a year and our crews attend more than 3000 emergencies a day. Our 24-hour 111 integrated urgent care services London answer around two million calls a year.

We play a leading role in integrating access to emergency and urgent care in the capital and are striving to ensure patients receive the right response, in the right place, at the right time

Our main role is to respond to emergency 999 calls, providing medical care to patients across the capital, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Other services we offer include providing pre-arranged patient transport and finding hospital beds. Working with the police and the fire service, we are prepared for dealing with large-scale or major incidents in the capital.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be:

·        Responsible for hosting a range of ‘career clinics’ which include supporting our colleagues with a range of career enhancing support, such as interview and application writing skills.

·         A key contributor to the planning, design and delivery of a range of programme portfolios, including soft skills workshops and other development workshops.

·         Involved in designing, developing and implementing a range of Talent Management interventions service wide.

·        Able to work closely with and support the Talent Management Associate Business Partner in the scoping, design, delivery and implementation of bespoke Talent Management interventions as identified by stakeholders, NHS wide and LAS initiatives.

·        Responsible for supporting Talent Management Associate Business Partner with ongoing analysis, evaluation and reporting of all Talent Management related initiatives to ensure the highest professional standards are maintained in line with best practice, policy and legislation

·         The post holder will support the wider People and Culture Directorate function to promote the Trust as high performing, learning organisation and an Employer of Choice, by supporting the aim to ensure LAS is a place where people can be supported to develop their careers at every level and retaining our top talent in line with the Trust’s priorities and continuous improvement plans

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

As the Career Development Advisor you will be responsible for:
•    Leading the Career Clinic service across LAS. 
•    Providing Career enhancing support to a diverse range of colleagues.
•    Supporting in the design, development and implementation of a range of Talent Management initiatives to support the career development of our LAS people.
•    Playing a pivotal role in supporting the multi-award winning ‘Our LAS culture change programme’.

The post holder will design, deliver and evaluate high quality engaging career advisory services and a range of Talent Management initiatives.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree level education in relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong evidence of personal development
  • CIPD or equivalent qualification, or relevant Human Resource experience

Experience

  • Experience of working in a healthcare/Ambulance Service environment
  • Working knowledge gained through experience of Talent principles and ways of working
  • Setting and implementing long term plans to achieve objectives and targets

Essential criteria
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to utilise them to communicate effectively, adapting communication style to manage different situations. Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills
