Job overview
The post holder will be based within the neurodevelopmental pathway, supporting young people with Autism and ADHD. This will include involvement in weekly neurodevelopmental assessment clinics, offering further specialist assessment if required, completing written reports and offering further advise and support/signposting information.
The postholder will work autonomously/ and with support from the consultant undertake ADHD prescribing duties and manage ADHD clinics.
The post holder will be responsible for completing risk assessments of the young people who they review and responding to risk appropriately, including safeguarding risks. They will work alongside the CAMHS team, and also other agencies to meet the needs of this client group. They will be responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing care plans.
Main duties of the job
1.Providing assessments and supporting diagnosis for young people with emotional wellbeing and mental health problems.
2.Acting as an Independent Nurse Prescriber
3. Prioritising and managing own workload with minimal supervision
4. As one of the senior practitioners, providing services to a multicultural and diverse population, to be responsible for delivering a very high standard of care to children and young people.
5.The post holder will work autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver excellent standards of care
6. Offering comprehensive assessments in the clinic and service user’s own home
7. Working effectively within the CAMHS locality team
8. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and procedures
9. Working effectively with our partners
10. Ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to
Ensuring that all referrals are seen in a timely manner
11. Mentoring
12. Advocating for the service user
13. Attending CPAs both in clinic and off site.

Working for our organisation
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735).
